Allied Telesis launches industrial Ethernet switches

Allied Telesis has announced the release of the IE200 Series of industrial Ethernet switches. Available in both Fast Ethernet and Gigabit versions, the IE200 Series is ideal for applications in challenging environmental conditions such as elevator rooms and external or harsh environments. The Allied Telesis IE200 Series has been developed to support a broad range of critical infrastructure applications and environments where a highly reliable, feature-rich solution is required.

The Allied Telesis IE200 Series is available in 6- or 12-port models, with or without Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) support. Both models are DIN Rail mounted, resulting in reduced space, mounting complexity and cost when compared to a standard rack.

In addition to traditional features such as port-based VLANs, IEEE 802.1p QoS, 802.1x port security, link aggregation, and port mirroring, the IE200 Series also supports features such as Ethernet Protection Switched Ring (EPSRing) and Allied Telesis Management Framework (AMF). The IE200 Series also utilizes "galvanic isolation," which is a feature that protects powered equipment against wrongful grounding.

As many new applications today are IPv6 ready, and with the number of connected devices expected to boom, the IE200 Series will feature native IPv6 support, in a future release of firmware, to ensure support for the largest number of devices across a broad range of applications. The IE200 Series meets the high reliability requirements demanded by industrial applications such as IP video surveillance, intelligent transport systems, and building management integration for both indoor and outdoor use.
