Antaira Technologies develops IP67-rated point-to-point preconfigured wireless outdoor bridge

Antaira Technologies has designed a new wireless outdoor bridge that features a preconfigured pair of units designed for rapid deployment. The APX-120N5 Series is Power over Ethernet enabled (IEEE 802.3af compliant), and each unit consumes 7.5W of power with an output of 800mW. There is a maximum data rate of 300Mbps and it also supports IEEE 802.11i / 802.1x authentication.

The user is not required to log onto the wireless devices to setup software or configure a wireless network. The powered devices (PDs) feature preloaded software that will allow the units to automatically connect to each other upon power up and immediately begin passing data.  The pair of units has preloaded information that includes IP addresses, ESSID name and WPA2 security information.

Each unit’s connection interface is 1xRJ45 – 10/100 Base T(x). Each unit has a built-in 19dBi at 5GHz with dual-polarization antenna that supports long distance communication. The APX-120N5 Series has an adjustable antenna elevation with a scale capability of 20 degrees up/down; users can take advantage of an internal antenna alignment tool through the web console.

The APX-120N5 Series also features an IP67 waterproof housing that is created out of ABS flame retardant plastic. The dimensions of the unit are 86 x 257 x 257 mm (3.39 x 10.11 x 10.11 in.) and the unit weight is 1.85lbs.  It has an operating temperature range of -20 to 70C and can withstand an ambient relative humidity of 5 to 95% (non-condensing).  This device is also compliant with part 15 of the FCC Rules.
