KVMSwitchTech adds PoE capability to HDBaseT matrix switchers
KVMSwitchTech's HDBaseT 4x4 HDMI matrix is uniquely designed with audio de-embedder in mind. The high-performance matrix is devised for rapidly routing HD video, audio and control signals from four sources to four independent displays over cat5e/6 Cables at distances up to 200 feet (60 meters).
KVMSwitchTech has completely refreshed their entire line of HDMI products with support for all of the great features in the latest HDMI standard. From the simple HDMI splitters, HDMI extenders over CATx cables, all the way up to 8x8 HDMI matrix switchers with integrated HDBaseT extension every category now has options for ultra HD resolutions. These new HDMI matrix switchers are certified as being fully CEC, ARC and HDCP 2.0 compliant, full HD 4K2K HDMI V1.4a 3D formats, data rates up to 6.75 Gbps.
Imaging is not the only area to be improved with the new line of KVMSwitchTech products. Some significant improvements have been made to the matrix switch category with new HDBaseT extenders built into the switches. These switches now include enough power to drive the remote receivers using Power over Ethernet (PoE). This allows for installation of televisions in remote locations throughout an installation where power outlets are at a premium. Some units also include a separate Ethernet port to allow TCP/IP network pass-through for remote smart televisions, allowing users to use smart TV apps such as the YouTube and Netflix channels without having to run additional network drops.
The HDMICAT-44-HDB-POE unit, for example, consists of two local HDMI outputs and 4 x RJ-45 outputs paired with 4 receivers. The four receivers are powered over Ethernet from the HDMI matrix and are controllable via bi-directional IR & RS232. This HDMI matrix supports computer video resolution up to 1920x1200, including 3D, HDTV 1080p/60 and allows cross-point switching rapidly. The matrix provisions with full HDCP management for continuous encryption and authentication to maintain quick and reliable switching.
It also incorporates EDID communication for each input/output ensuring proper source power up and maintaining a steady video signal on the display side. The HDMICAT-44-HDB-POE unit is fully controllable through RS232 and provides optional TCP/IP when used with third-party control systems. It is ideal for various residential and commercial applications such as digital signage, military, homes and theater, churches and lecture halls, where signal management and distribution of HD Video signals are critical.
