Vubiq Networks develops 60 GHz millimeter wave Gigabit PoE broadband wireless system

Vubiq Networks has launched a 60 GHz millimeter wave broadband wireless system designed to deliver Gigabit Ethernet wireless transport speeds for enterprise and carrier applications. The HaulPass V60 takes advantage of the unlicensed spectrum in the 60 GHz band to deliver full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet data throughput at up to 500 meters range. It also has a built-in two-port Gigabit Ethernet switch for multiple connections, and allows the ability to daisy chain multiple HaulPass V60 systems for extended distances.
With its optional LAYER 2 Carrier Ethernet features, the HaulPass V60 can deliver advanced networking services such as quality of service (QoS), virtual LAN and traffic engineering with MPLS-TP.
The new product is targeted at wireless fiber extension and 4G/LTE backhaul applications where fiber and cable delivery are difficult or expensive. The wireless link provided by HaulPass V60 maintains high bit rate network connectivity and integrates network services functionality.
For high-density radio networks, the 60 GHz spectrum permits greater frequency re-use. Multiple wireless links can be deployed within the same area because the HaulPass V60 incorporates highly directional antennas that guide the RF waves into narrow beamwidths. Local interference is also mitigated by oxygen absorption, providing high link densities that translate to high area capacity.
The Vubiq Networks HaulPass V60 radio enclosure has a diameter of 8.35 inches and a depth of 7.1 inches. It weighs 3.4 pounds, draws 15 watts of power and offers 30-microsecond link latency. A cost-effective solution, the HaulPass V60 supports power over Ethernet (PoE) for easy installation and can be set up and deployed in minutes.
